Hey Dave, the 'phasing' comment was regarding the 'Lucy' remix from the 'Yellow Submarine' soundtrack that came out in 1999. I thought that the version released had a bit too much obvious phasing on the vocals, when compared to the LP or original '87 CD.

Hey, it's Dave from fb. If you bought Sgt Pepper individually, you bought the same mix you already had on CD... so I'm confused by your "phasing" comments about "Lucy."
For clarification, the first four 1987 Cds were in mono, and the rest were all in stereo. NOW, all of the individually sold discs are the stereo mixes, and the mono mixes (many of them appearing on CD for the first time) are only in the "Beatles in Mono" box set.

Thanks, for the comment! I'd be interested to know what commercial it was in, don't think I've seen that. I wish I had their whole albums, though. This one song was the only one I ever heard, but I'd be interested to know what the rest of them sounded like.

I just heard part of this song (for the first time in a LONG time) on a cellphone commercial tonight. And so I went searching... I loved the song from the 80's... and couldn't for the life of me remember what it was or who did it. Finally found it, and subsequently found your post.

You say it so well... that it's funny how certain songs like this "matter".

What a shame that the group (Freur) didn't go on to do lots of stuff like this. I'm currently on a search to find samples from either of their two albums.

One of the greatest, and most recognizable, guitar riffs in '60s pop music, played by the great Louie Shelton.

It's interesting to note that the group that acted as backing band on all of the Boyce & Hart compositions recorded by The Monkees was Tommy Boyce's band, The Candy Store Prophets, augmented by guitarists Wayne Erwin and Louie Shelton.
